Incense Making: You Won't Believe How Easy It Is

Making incense is not only a skill of the hands but also of the heart.  As you blend the herbs, spices, woods, and resins you touch their energy.  Think of all the energy store within those ingredients.  Plants that stood in the sun for hundreds of days.  Trees that had stretched into the sky for many decades.  Resin from trees that died more than 100,000 years ago and have been buried with the Earth ever since.  All of that energy has been stored and it's waiting for you.

The most enjoyable way for most people to learn about incense is in person.  Attending a woskshop or other "hands-on" event can be very effective.  If there are no workshops or classes in your area, don't fret.  This is something that can be learned from a book.  That can be difficult for some people, especially visual learners, when the only directions come from a printed page.  I can promise that incense is an exception.  Know why?  Because it's easy.  There are plenty of people and books out that will tell you how hard it is to roll your own incense sticks, cones, and other forms.  Success comes from the simplicity of the process.  Anyone can learn to make incense in less than an hour.  Many can learn the heart of the process in a matter of minutes.
